A whole day can be spent exploring the corners of our city. Within the 10 blocks that make up the downtown area, we can walk through San Martín, the main street, to buy souvenirs and try the local cuisine (Spider Crab, Black Hake and Fuegian Lamb among the most typical). The activities are very varied and range from thematic galleries that tell the history of our island in an interactive way to bars made of ice. If we want to go back to the beginnings of the city, the maritime museum and prison is an incredible place; in fact, one of the pavilions is still intact to understand what the living conditions were like in that place 80 years ago. Right there there is an exact replica of the Lighthouse at the End of the World that can be accessed. There are companies that have tours and stops with local guides who tell the story along the way.
Tip: We recommend taking a walk through the "De la Misión" neighborhood where you can access the old airport and take excellent photos of the entire city. Very close to there you can also access the yacht club dock.
You can’t miss: Walk along the coast to capture postcards of the port and of an emblematic ship aground, the "St. Christopher", that is historical heritage of the city.
