Emerald Lagoon (Laguna Esmeralda)

On the outskirts of Ushuaia, an activity for the whole family. After approximately 2 hours of easy walking through a forest of lengas and ñires, we arrive at a lagoon of glacial origin, which gives it its characteristic color. The path is very well signposted and we will even find signs with information about the forest that we travel through and the lagoon. You do not need a guide or hire a tour for this hike. If you arrive by car, at the beginning of the trail there is a large parking lot. There are also transportation services from Ushuaia with various return times during the day.

Tip: Wear suitable footwear and, if possible, waterproof as you go through bog areas. Skirting the lagoon on the right side elevates us and we can take incredible photos of the lagoon.

You can’t miss: For more demanding hikers, the same path to the lagoon ends 2 km later at the base of the Ojo del Albino Glacier (a mountain guide is needed).
